Design
Unique Concepts prides itself on providing the most creative, functional and appealing projects within the industry. The process begins with an inquiry from
the customer. A meeting is set to determine the scope and budget of the project, to develop an initial concept for the design and to showcase our products and services.
Measurements will be taken and the design process begins.
All Unique Concepts designs are engineered drawings drawn to scale with accurate measurements accompanying them. Once these measurements are entered into a database
(a program written by Unique Concepts) along with choice of the product manufacturer and product styles to be used, a quote package is automated along with a detailed materials list.
This enables Unique Concepts to offer an initial quote along with multiple upgrades to assist the customer in selecting whatever their budget allows.
These upgrades could include additional features, increased size or complexity or higher end materials such as tumbled wallstone or composite lumber.
The database can be quickly updated to accommodate any design change allowing for immediate feedback to the customer. During the quoting process, we almost always
encounter a question such as,..."How is cost affected if we raise the upper patio 12", eliminate two steps to the doorwall and increase the sidewalk width 6 inches more?" Unique Concepts will
deliver the answer along with an updated quote and materials list within seconds.
When it comes to projects that combine hardscaping, landscaping, carpentry, water features, etc., it is important to choose one team to pull it all together.
This is the best way to efficiently utilize available space, design what the customer desires, stay within budget, maintain design continuity and maximize the overall appeal
of the project.

Jay Harris is the principle designer and salesman for Unique Concepts.
He is a lifelong artist and he enjoys pen and pencil drawing, photography, sculpting with all different mediums and making pottery with his pottery wheel and kiln.
Jay has 13 years of experience working as an automotive engineer and he holds a B.S. degree in mathematics, a minor in Biology, and a drafting certificate.
Unique Concepts designs truely are a blend of engineering, geometry, and art.
The designs are created while keeping in mind the materials to be used, the tools available for construction, and the construction practices to be employed.
